========================================
EpochStreet release v1.1.2
Changes since v1.1.1
========================================
- Online play: a large pass on what spectators and the other players
see during someone else's turn (places where the watching screen did
not match the player's own).
- Online High & Low no longer gets stuck (from a player report).
- Security fixes, part 2. Joining online play now creates an account
when you do not have one yet.
- The CPU's choice for cards 20/23 and its vacant-lot rebuild were
reviewed (from a player report).
- Race music now starts in time with the start jingle (from a player
report).
- The launcher becomes 1.0.23 (it replaces itself when started).
Interrupted downloads now resume where they stopped.
! The engine version goes up (Core 0.6.50 -> 0.6.51).
Online play works between THIS version only (the release build v1.1.2
and the test build v1.1.2-test0 can sit at the same table). v1.1.1 and
earlier are refused at the door. The servers are already updated.
+ Suspended games and autosaves still load.
----------------------------------------
- Online play (watching other turns)
----------------------------------------
- While watching, moving the cursor when picking a shop for cards 22/73
made the background art slide at a different speed. Fixed.
- While watching, the warp cards (53/140) flew the piece before the card
and its text were shown. Fixed.
- Watchers now see the same pre-roll map frames, walk route guide,
item-auction lot, switch "after" preview and so on as the player.
- Turns the server plays (server CPUs, timeouts and disconnect stand-ins)
now show purchases, payments, chance cards and stock trades as notice
plates (you could not tell what had happened before).
- A CPU turn driven by a person is shown at the standard pace, not at
that person's own settings.
- Casino payouts are advanced by the player who landed there, and the
watchers' result screens always close before the next turn.
- Turning on "Relief" from the in-game menu now shows a tag to the whole
table.
- Vehicles, whirlpools and instant switches now fly on the watchers'
screens too.
- The result of a negotiation between other players is shown to
everyone exactly once (it could appear twice or not at all).
- A held warp that ended the match did not fly. Fixed.
----------------------------------------
----------------------------------------
- In online High & Low, the time could run out while you were still
reading; after the server played a move for you, the screen stayed on
"High or low?" and the turn never ended.
- The answer window now includes time to read the pages.
- Moves the server plays are flipped on screen, and a miss or a
cash-out closes the game properly.
- The "AI" tag no longer appears while a person is playing.
----------------------------------------
----------------------------------------
- For cards 20/23 (raise a shop's price) the CPU used to raise small
shops; it now picks the shop that raises its own net worth the most
(including the gain on its stock).
- The number of shares a CPU needs before rebuilding a vacant lot into
a shop now depends on its strength and its "Builder" tendency
(strength 4 is unchanged). The Piece Workshop text says so.
----------------------------------------
----------------------------------------
- The race start signal now waits for the start jingle to finish
(3 to 8 seconds) instead of a fixed 3 seconds, so the race music no
longer comes in late.
- The Modern race start jingle was replaced with a shorter one (3.8 s).
If you had assigned that slot yourself, it goes back to the default
once.
----------------------------------------
----------------------------------------
- When you join online play without an account, one is created after a
confirmation (the same one as on the Online screen).
- Stricter reading of negotiation terms, images, boards, packages and
server addresses, so bad data cannot freeze the game or use huge
amounts of memory. Normal play is unchanged.
- An account you signed out of no longer comes back by another route.
----------------------------------------
----------------------------------------
- Interrupted downloads resume where they stopped (no more pressing
again after repeated "failed"), and a failure shows its reason.
- Files that are already downloaded and correct are not fetched again.
- While an update runs in the background, the Update/Install buttons
are disabled and say "Updating in the background...".
