Version 1.4.0 is out. Start the launcher and it updates itself. Here is what changed since 1.3.4.
Casinos: "Modern"
Almost every casino game now has a Modern form, with prizes and balance revisited. Small fixed prizes such as +1G or +10G become prizes that grow with the player's level, so they are still worth having late in a match. The old way of playing stays available as Legacy. New matches default to Modern.
- Rules (per element) gains 12 casino rows. The Default and Modern presets pick Modern; Legacy and Present pick Legacy
- The casino selection screen gains a "Casino rules" row that switches Default / Legacy / Present / Modern at once. The chip on each game's row switches just that game
The casino selection screen. The "Casino rules" row switches them all at onceHigh & Low: a reason to stop
The prize money (20G, doubling up to 1280G) is unchanged, but when you take it you also get every bonus up to your streak.
- 3 wins: Happy hat (1G every step you walk) / 4: Happy belt (another 1G a step)
- 5: Lucky earring (a 3% cut until the match ends)
- 6: two Dokodemo Cards
- 7 (taken automatically): Miracle necklace (until the match ends, your shops you pass or stop on go up 2%)
High & Low Modern. Four wins, and the hat and belt rows light upNew accessories and the half-price ticket
- Lucky earring (+3% cut), Lucky ring (+5%), Lucky bracelet (+2%): every time anyone pays a shopping fee, the bank gives you a share of it. They add up, to 50% in total
- Miracle necklace (+2%) and Miracle anklet (+1%): each time you pass or stop on one of your shops, its price goes up (5% in total). A golden "+N%" floats up, and a shop whose rank changes transforms
- Half-price ticket: used at someone else's shop, it halves that fee (a free ticket, if you hold one, goes first)
Game by game
- Legacy Race: now "pick your prize". Each of the six racers carries a prize (cash 75 + level x 25G, a Dokodemo Card, the cheapest unowned shop and more), every racer is equally likely to win, and any number of players may back the same one. 2nd and 3rd get a smaller form of the backed racer's prize
- Treasure Hunt: instead of level x 20G, the Happy outfit (3G a step), the Power Seed (one of your shops +20%), the Lucky ring and the Miracle anklet
- Double-Up Scratch: tier 1 level x 15G or a half-price ticket, tier 2 level x 30G or a free ticket, tier 3 level x 60G or 3% of net worth, and more
- Lucky Panel, Wakuwaku Rope, Modern Race, Silver Tarot: prizes grow with your level
- Roulette: the dealer now loses at most 21x the stake per spin
- Slot: choose from five reward tables (some with a capital-investment symbol)
- With five or more players, the Lucky Panel allows two pairs per turn, and the Panel and Scratch minus is capped at three shares
The Legacy Race prediction screen: every racer carries a prize
Treasure Hunt Modern: a Lucky ring foundAll of it is gathered in a new guide on the official site, "Casinos" (/guide/casino.en.html).
Settings and controls presets
Settings and controls (keys and pad) can now be saved and applied as presets. The two rows are in Settings -> Other. You can also publish them on the official server and fetch other people's.
- A settings preset shows "old -> new" before it is applied
- A controls preset must be confirmed with the new Decide key within 10 seconds, or it is undone, so you can never lock yourself out
- A controls preset can include P1's name, piece and colour, and you choose which of P1-P8 it goes to. It can also be applied from the Play Together player setup (K)
Chance cards
- New cards 225 "Miracle anklet" and 226 "Lucky bracelet" (for custom decks and the board editor)
- Card 148 (re-draw) and the reshuffle after all 64 cards now have their own animations
Other improvements and fixes
- When a monopoly forms through a deal or an auction, the monopoly comes first and then the shop's new look, and the monopoly jingle always plays
- A forced sell-off no longer leaves a player bankrupt while still holding shares. In team play, CPU players no longer count allies as rivals
- Online: the door animation on a person's turn now shows for spectators, and a sync that could stop in long matches is fixed
- Many other fixes: the time-out relief stalling on some screens, the reason on the winner banner, damaged save files, and more
Test build 1.4.0-test0
The test build has the same changes. In Test Mode's Sphere Battle it also reworks Drain MP (how it appears and what it takes), makes Ramuh, Kaboom and Kazapple scale with the player count, and refines how the CPU uses Job Change and the healing spheres.
Please note
The engine version went up, so you cannot play online with 1.3.4 or earlier. Saves load as before.
